January is notorious long and while we (Finally) Access with its end, maybe looking for a light comedy. This is where the new comic Netflix comes: This film, which bears Julia Louis-Dreyfus, deals with serious topics and retains relaxed access and benevolent humor.
This charming comic drama, directed by Nicole Holofcener, appeared a modest appearance when he was released in theaters of May 2023, but his arrival at Netflix (26 January) is a great opportunity to achieve a much more audience. I was worried that it was lost in the huge library of films on the platform without leaving a trail, but this pessimism proved unfounded, while this little gem quickly climbed into the TOP 10 Netflix. As I write (January 27), it is already in the seventh position.
So, if you are looking for a pleasant movie that you could watch this week, that’s all you need to know about “hurting my feelings” and why it deserves a place in your list of movies you can watch the fight against winter melancholy…
What is it talking about “Did you hurt my feelings”?

Look at
Beth (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is a creative and writer of a teacher, in a pair for a long time with Don (Tobias Menzies), a therapist with a fine figure trying to connect with the problems of his patients and worrying about who is worried concerns about age. After her literary agent gave him an unusual response to his latest novel, Beth seeks Don’s certainty, which gives her a positive assessment she wants so much. Shortly thereafter, however, surprised him to give a more sincere assessment of his novel by a friend.
This small lie causes cracks in their marriage, albeit solid. When Beth still becomes irritated by don, the truth ends with a rupture. “You hurt my feelings” is a relevant dramatic comedy that asks a gentle question: “Is it ever acceptable to lie to someone we love to keep our feelings?”
“You hurt my feelings” is largely identifiable comedy
“You will hurt me feelings”, it will be a particularly speaking film for those who have been in a relationship for a long time. The fear that your partner will only tell you what you want to hear, rather than what they really think, is almost universal feeling and Nicole Holofcener (who writes and realizes) uses this central experience.
What makes you “hurt my feelings” is that neither of the characters is presented as completely in his right. The desire to give his wife’s feelings not to hurt an honorable opinion on his work is understandable, while Beth’s indignation in the face of his refusal to share his honest opinion is as much. “You hurt me feelings” is not trying to determine an objective judgment about what is right or not, but navigates in a finer territory.
Thanks to the cute personality Louis-Dreyfus and his feeling of comical timing, the film remains pleasant. The moments when Beth is carried in Diatrie or his sarcastic notes to dispose of a serious situation is one of my favorite. As far as part of it is concerned, Menzies, whose humor is softer, can approach the dramatic side with the brilliance and add the depth of the character of Don.
In short, “You hurt me feelings” is a comedy with modest problems, but how often in life, small things may seem most important. With a gentle but intelligent humor and a slight atmosphere (even in your most serious moments), you “hurt my feelings” with a gentle dramatic comedy. His simple structure makes him all the more pleasant.
Critics also appreciated this film. “You hurt me feelings” currently shows an impressive 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes and the critical consensus You hurt my feelings It demonstrates the sharp observation capacity of Nicole Holofcener. An opinion that I share perfectly.
